Purpose

Toggle between Page and Draft view.wcm (v1.01)
is a macro (contained in the downloadable ZIP file in the left side column) that toggles the current display view back and forth between Page view and Draft view.

NOTE: Page numbers, Headers, Footers Watermarks and table or page Guidelines, do not appear in Draft view (on the View menu. They should appear in Page view (or Two Pages view, -- possibly a good reason to use this macro to quickly switch to the correct view during editing. Draft view (when turned On) is useful for some users to reduce format "clutter" or to more conveniently view/edit WordPerfect Comments, Text boxes, and text variables in a full-screen edit window. (These three feattures are created and edited from the Insert menu.).

It also centers the cursor vertically on the screen (if possible after the view is switched) This can help provide more visual context to the exact location you are working on.

Operation

Just download the ZIP file, extract the above-named macro from it, and move the macro into your WordPerfect's default macro folder. (See the "Downloading..." link in the left column for help if you need it.)

Then play the macro in any open document to instantly switch the current view from Page to Draft or vice versa. (To assign the macro to a toolbar or keyboard shortcut for instant access see the tip below.)

Tips

☼  If you do not want the brief message to appear that announces the current View mode you can open the macro (like any other document) and delete the redlined Prompt commands at the end of the macro's code.

☼  To easily play this macro from your menu, or by using a keyboard shortcut or toolbar button, see here.

☼  An alternative to this macro -- but which takes up a bit more toolbar space -- is to directly place the Draft, Page, and even Two Pages options on a toolbar as separate buttons. They can be found on the Toolbar Editor under the Feature category, View.

☼  See also 2PgView for a macro that toggles between Page view and Two Page view.
