TOOCLOSE - "Too close" | ||
|
Is your style of writing too "repetitive"? TooClose.wcm is a macro that examines your
document for duplicate words that are "too close" together according to
a user-defined proximity setting (the default is 10 words), then
highlights the second copy of the word in redline. [Redlines can be removed by
the macro from the main menu (or with Replace Codes here).] Note that the macro excludes certain common words by consulting a list of words in the macro's code; users can modify the list by editing the macro's User Modification Area. The larger the list of excluded words, the fewer "hits" will show up in your document when the macro is played. TooClose is useful for writers who want to avoid giving the appearance of repetition and awkwardness. It can help prevent too many occurrences of the same word in a block of text. The macro is fully annotated; see the comments at the top of the macro code. |
